Oh, Thanksgiving! You and your turkey, stuffing and dessert galore!
This year we had a beautiful Thanksgiving at my sister’s new place, (five acres of outer city gorgeousness), surrounded by love, food and of course more food.
The weather was amazing that day. Perfect cool and crisp autumn air. Enjoyed by all, including babies and puppies alike. Love Love Love.
Everyone had a feast that day. We all gathered around and gave my sister’s new chicken in their brand new chicken coop some love.
Then off to work we go! Throw on some tunes, uncork some wine and it becomes a wonderful cooking gathering.
One of my family’s most annoying but weirdly rewarding traits is we hardly ever bring cooked food to a family gathering, it’s almost always fresh ingredients and we all cook together. It doesn’t matter if we choose a potluck dinner, everyone will ask for the oven, pot and pan, or calling claim on the chopping board. It’s a loving chaotic good time.
Then to finish off the beautiful dinner we had dessert galore. What family doesn’t need cupcakes, pie, cream puff pastry and of course ice cream to finish off a huge feast? Right?!
I am going to blame the turkey for making me forgetful about photographing the desserts but here are the cupcakes we enjoyed.
And of course to end the night. Some more drinks, bonfire (with roasting marshmallows) and fireworks. What can I say, hubby found some while driving out. What is it with boys and their explosives. Tsk tsk.
Hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving too! XOXO
